Poetry: Oh, Those Words

Words touch me
In oh so many ways
Beware
how you say them
Caution really pays

The tests are high
The tests are low
I’ve heard it all before
Careful
how you say them
fears could really sore

Did you hear the latest?
That test result was high
To learn it’s just from surgery
My mouth and tongue
So dry

Watch
the way you say things
My nerves can’t take the strain
When this mess is over
I’ll no longer go insane!
